Wedding Party photos at Ivy Black –
Theres no short of great spots to shoot at Ivy Black Wedding Venue. Although this day was colder than it looks we took many breaks with the wedding party and hopped in and out of the venue. The back door of the venue is a convenient way to get in and out when we were out towards the field for groomsmen and wedding party photos. The front of the building was less windy and the perfect spot for the bride and bridesmaids!

Side note- You should make it a wedding weekend if you are traveling from out of town. Duluth offers many other activities and great coffee and food options. While you are in the area you should defiantly check out Lake Superior. It is one of the 5 Great Lakes. Fun fact Lake Superior is the world’s largest freshwater lake by surface area, covering about 31,700 square miles!

The venue is good at every angle you choose. No matter if you are in the front of the barn, back of the barn or even in the field. Being sure to get out for a time to connect and celebrate together is the best way to slow down on your wedding day and enjoy each others company. We may not have that “golden hour” sunset, but when you have this black wedding venue against the green grass or field, a sun doesn’t even matter at that point!
Reception at Ivy Black Weddings and Events Venue
Entering your reception should be fun, loud and exciting. We loved that the wedding party could hang out on the stairs before they all entered the reception room. The Buffet set- up is in the hall right outside the kitchen area making it a great space to be out of the way.
