We struggled too until we started booking USVI destination. Standing on this beach, enjoying all the island has to offer and officially adding the title of USVI Photographer to our list.
Wedding Venues in St Thomas Virgin Islands- Sapphire Beach Resort
We met the couple at the resort they were staying at: Sapphire Beach Resort. We walked around and got familiar with the resort and where the ceremony was going to be held. The resort was absolutely beautiful and we were just speechless. We couldn’t imagine a more stunning place to have a wedding than right on the beach with the white sand between your toes and the waves crashing against the shore. The anticipation was building even more for this USVI wedding (We didn’t even know that was possible!).
Where to get ready for your USVI Destination Weddings
Sapphire Beach Resort has some of the top notch rooms amongst all USVI Wedding Venues.
This has got to be one of the best Destination Weddings in USVI we’ve got to be apart of. Both the bride and groom got ready in separate rooms! Each room was spacious enough for everyone and both had balconies. The Brides room was two floors which made things appear much less cluttered when she was ready to get in her dress.

One of the things we do when we are working as destination wedding photographers is head to the resort the day prior. That’s if we don’t stay on the resort! Getting a general idea of what we are working with and where we want to take all the photos. Out of all the USVI Wedding Venues we searched, Sapphire Beach Resort was definitely high on the list!

What more could you ask for when you see this. Looking back it just doesn’t seem real. Being a Minneapolis Wedding Photographer and Videographer team, we would have never believed we could end up in St. Thomas shooting this USVI destination wedding.
Sunset in St. Thomas USVI – Sapphire Beach Resort
As you can already see, this day was beyond perfect and what better way to end with their couples portraits at sunset. When you plan a USVI destination wedding you can only hope that your evening will be finished off with one of the best sunsets. At Sapphire Beach Resort we watched the sunset dip behind the mountains and cast the perfect amount of glow.
Keep in mind with sunset photos in St.Thomas, depending on where you are at on the Island, sunset may be earlier than what you anticipate.
Sapphire Beach Resort Reception
This USVI Wedding Venue has it all. We loved that they couple was able to bring in their own vendors like Hair and MUA, as well us- Minneapolis Wedding Photographer and Videographer! They also worked with a great USVI Wedding Planner. She was organized and so nice! We really enjoyed having a wedding coordinator who we could ask all our questions to! This reception space was cozy, well lit and the DJ they hired knew how to keep everyone going for the rest of the night!
If you are planning on traveling to St. Thomas, we want to give you a word of advice. The island is slowly recovering from a hurricane from a few years back. This means that the cost of some things in the Virgin Islands can be a little pricey! Just keep in mind that the Virgin Islands depend on tourism for their economics so if you’re planning a trip, go all in and spend the money to help the islanders! We are all here to help a lending hand so this is an important thing to keep in mind when planning on going to the Virgin Islands.
